Location: Mukundi Santhali Village, Godda, Jharkhand
Date: 10 October 2025
Organized by: Shreel Foundation
On 10th October 2025, the Shreel Foundation team revisited Mukundi Santhali village, Godda, where rural families were previously encouraged to establish kitchen gardens.
The purpose of the visit was to:
Inspect the progress of kitchen gardens established by local families.
Educate residents about the nutritional value of vegetables and the importance of water conservation.
Motivate families to maintain and expand their home gardens for better self-reliance and healthy living.
Several Santhali households have successfully transformed their courtyards into lush green vegetable gardens, growing tomatoes, chillies, spinach, brinjal, and more.
Families showcased their produce, demonstrating practical benefits of the initiative.
The team encouraged other villagers to start their own kitchen gardens, spreading the spirit of self-reliance and nutrition.
This initiative now stands as a symbol of sustainable living, nutrition, and environmental awareness in the community.
“Ghar Ka Bagiya – Every home a green courtyard, every family self-reliant and healthy.”
Shreel Foundation continues to empower rural communities through practical initiatives that promote nutrition, sustainability, and environmental care.
