SHG Formation Program – Empowering Rural Women 2021-22

    To motivate and orient rural women towards key aspects of SHG (Self Help Group) development, including rapport building, group formation process, and operational management, with a strong focus on women-led community development.

    Program Highlights:

    • Awareness on the significance of women’s collective strength through SHGs

    • Training on SHG formation structure, internal rules, savings, and lending practices

    • Emphasis on leadership, decision-making, and financial literacy

    • Introduction to government linkages, credit facilities, and livelihood opportunities

    • Encouragement to initiate income-generating activities under SHG banner


    Impact:

    The sessions empowered over 110 women across five villages and created a pathway for many to start or join Self-Help Groups. The initiative strengthened women’s understanding of self-reliance, mutual support, and their potential role in rural development.
